The challenge
Systematic faced a large-scale project with an estimated budget of over 250 million DKK. The goal was to modernize and replace the existing IT system used by all public schools and institutions such as daycare centers and after-school programs. The project, known as AULA, was designed to serve a user base of over 2.5 million people—nearly half of Denmark’s population. Therefore, it was critical to find a UI designer who could meet the high expectations and demands of such an expansive project.
Our approach
We began by identifying candidates with strong expertise in user interface design for both web and mobile applications, with a clear focus on developing personas and mapping user journeys. It was also essential to find a professional who could create user scenario-based interface mockups and improve user interfaces based on comprehensive UX research. After an in-depth screening process, we selected an experienced UI designer who possessed the necessary skills and had a clear understanding of the project’s complexity.
The result
The UI designer we selected joined Systematic’s team on a six-month contract. He took on the responsibility of designing an intuitive user interface that prioritized user satisfaction. He worked on creating user scenarios through interface mockups, presenting them as realistic system screenshots to give stakeholders a clear view of the design. Additionally, the designer assisted in the development of interactive prototypes for both desktop and smartphone applications using prototyping software such as Axure. His role also involved improving usability by analyzing user behavior and making necessary adjustments to the design.
The impact
With the contributions of the UI designer, Systematic successfully developed a modern, user-friendly platform that effectively met the diverse needs of its user base, including families, teachers, and educators. By focusing on improving the user experience and responding to real user needs, the AULA platform became a significant improvement in communication and interaction within the Danish education system. This user-centric design approach ensured that AULA was not only a technological upgrade but a meaningful enhancement in how users interacted with the system.
Conclusion
This project demonstrates how our tailored recruitment process can connect companies with the right professionals to handle even the most demanding challenges. We are proud to have played a role in Systematic’s success and look forward to helping other companies achieve their goals through expert-driven solutions.
